What a cluttered mess!!
So my mind and thoughts have been a bit of a cluttered mess as I am trying to move towards discovering my potential business. I've been doing a lot of reading blogs, websites and research on various topics. I know I want to do something that taps into my creativity just haven't quite put my finger on it. I currently have this blog and minoakabebe.blogspot.com for my thoughts, inspiration and information that I come across. I have been posting fairly regularly on Minoaka Bebe because I hope to use that blog as my career discovery and use this blog for my inspirations which I have neglected lately. Now I'm wondering if I should have more blogs or websites for each topic or career interest that I have. I am holding back on that until I narrow down what interests me most because I don't want more of a cluttered mess. I'm feeling a little pressure to get things going because I would like to know where my career is headed and also I need to help out financially at home.
I think the best thing to do right now is try to narrow down my selected ideas and build on that. Then once that's set build a website. I don't want to make the mistake of jumping into something unprepared and struggle even more. Also, I will try to figure out the best way to organize my blogs, or look into a website and decide if that's the best way to go. I've got a lot of work to do and each day I feel I am getting closer to my goals!

Apple Butter
I found this awesome post on Craft 4 Your Life while I was checking out Blissful and Domestic. It seems so simple, delicious, can be used on just about any type of food that you can think of! Delicious!
Apple Butter
We have an abundance of apples on our tree and I am running out of ideas of what to make with them until I saw this recipe for crock pot apple butter and oh it is so good
Started out with about 6 quarts of peeled and cored apple slices
I put all of them in Big red (yes my crock pot has a name)
Then you add
4 cups sugar (give or take depending on how sweet your apples are)
2 teaspoons Cinnamon (again you can also adjust that too)
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp ground cloves
and a little nutmeg
mix in your crock pot cook on high for 1 hour then low for 9-11 hours longer and you get this...
I actually started mine on high at 9pm then low at 10 pm then just let it cook all night
after its done cooking take a hand blender and smooth it out.
I just dumped it in my big blender then put it back big red, then you can cook it on low until its at a consistency you like.
This recipe is so easy and not hard to adjust at all.
This is so good on toast or cream cheese and crackers even on a pot roast or pork chops you can add chili peppers pretty much anything when you have the base apple butter.
I got 7 of the half- pint jars out of this batch I put them in a water bath to seal them.
Going to make a few more batches put a cute bow and tag on them and they will make great neighbor gifts for Christmas!

California Trip 2011
Just got back on Tuesday from our trip to California to visit hubby's dad and the rest of the family. Tanis did very well on the plane ride both to and from Cali, he got a little fussy at one point but it wasn't so bad. Visited Disneyland for the first time and had a lot of fun, could've have done without the 45 min wait in lines but otherwise it was fun. A little different than what I thought it would be like, from what I've seen on tv and movies. I got my mouse ears, Tanis got to meet Mickey (with a fully loaded diaper!), and I got to see Sleeping Beauty's Castle the top things I wanted to do. Next time we're going to the California Adventure park and just go on the rides. Since it was my first time, I wanted to see the original Disneyland.
California was nice, different from Maui, in the sense that every few miles you'd see towns. Where in Maui, after a mile or two it was the ocean or forestry. A lot of things were cheaper, I got 2 pairs of shoes at the swap meet for just $12 bucks! I enjoyed my time there and it made me appreciate Maui and it's beauty a lot more. I look forward to going to California again and hopefully it won't be another ten years before we see the Cali family.
The only thing I would do without was the airport security and the airport scene, with all the extra security and fuel costs it made things more costly and hectic. All I know is I think we're gonna purchase an extra seat. It was nice to have that space with the baby, and thankfully we had a extra seat on both flights. It made the world of difference!

Losing weight
We're going to California to vist Scott's dad and show of the baby, so I've been going through my closet and trying on different outfits. Most of them I just don't feel comfortable in anymore and realized I truly need to lose weight. I got Alison Sweeney's "The Mommy Diet" awhile back and I think I'm gonna truly follow the advice in her book. I just feel fat and I've not really paid attention to my diet and body after I had the baby, frankly I just got lazy. So I'm gonna kick it into gear when we get back and really make an effort. It's hard to eat good with limited funds but I will have to find a way...

Inspirational Binder or Board
I've decided to start an inspiration binder or board in addition to this blog. I don't really have anywhere to display where I live so maybe a binder might do the trick. I've always had some sort of binders with magazine pages torn out of make up, fashion, styles, business ideas but maybe I need one dedicated to things that inspire me. I'm hoping this helps me to find the right business I want to do, then the next thing left would be trying to get capital. Lately, I've been thinking of getting a part-time job to bring in extra money to live and save. Perhaps this binder will help me to bring it all together, my mind feels like it's all over the place because I want to do so many things to accomplish my goal to be an etnrepreneuer. I'm like a chicken without a head! I'll update my progress after I get back from California, maybe I'll pick up a few inspirational ideas from there!

Hitch'd Stash
This is a pretty cool blog that I found through Top Mommy Blogs, actually I was checking out Takara in Tokyo and came across this blog. Brief info on who they are:
This is who we are.
Hitch'd is a web service that lets you collect wedding inspiration and create printable stationery for your wedding easily. Both Hitch'd Stash + Designer were created by people with big love for weddings, technology, and great products.
I'm not jumping into wedding planning or anything but this blog got me inspired. I still would like my own online boutique but maybe I could do a baby book thing or cloth diapers? I would love to do what they do but for babys and moms...food for thought?
Big Dreams
On the good advice of a fellow blogger, I started, actually restarted, writing my blog to keep all my thoughts and inspirations. I keep bouncing back and forth between ideas and what I would like to do to become a WAHM. I became a Scentsy Consultant to make extra money but that is a slow go. Mostly because I'm not that overly pushy sales person, but I want to make extra money so we don't have to continue to struggle and to put towards whatever idea I hope to pursue. I love fashion and the creative side of it, don't really sew but I know I can do it just gotta get the machine going. My most current obsession is opening an online boutique of children's clothing. I'm thinking of doing pre-loved and clothing that I design myself..again need to sew..I've been dragging my feet on getting a second job because I dont' want to give up more time with my son. He's only 9 months but I want to spend as much time with him as I can. I guess I have to find a balance between the sacrifices I'm willing to make and what I need to do. Okay now that I got that off my chest, I can breathe again.
Smallville Finale, Tom Welling puts on the Superman suit.
I am truly bummed that last Friday was the finale of Smallville, this show has grown so much over the last ten years and has given a different twist on the Superman/Clark Kent persona. You watched the character of Clark develop into the hero he was destined to be. I enjoyed the friendship the show developed betweenClark Kent and Lex Luthor, even though you knew they would end up as enemies instead. Still I hoped they would be friends. I was glad they brought Lex back even though it was only for an instant, you can't have Superman without Lex Luthor. The entire time I watched the show I kept waiting for Tom Welling to put on the Superman suite, he finally did at the end but I was a little disappointed because it was only for the last 15 minutes of the show...also you didn't get to see him close up that much. Other than that I really enjoyed the finale, but now what else do I fill my Friday nights with?
